As the new generation of children grew up in the chapel it was seen that there was a
need for activities for young people. The crew were named after Twm, Eirian and Ann Rees' cat, who would join the small group of youngsters who met every Sunday evening at their home in Efail Isaf in 1985.
In a short period Teulu Twm flourished and by 1988 there were over 50 young people meeting in Tabernacl Vestry weekly.
