Fortunately Llantrisant History Society and particularly Barry Davies has traced the history of many of the farms in the area and copies of these reviews are available.
"MALLT O'R DYFFRYN" describes the history of the Llanilltud Faerdref area at the beginning of the 19th century.
Also the late Dillwyn Lewis, past-headmaster of Maesybryn Primary School, has published "Under the Parish Lantern", a collection of pictures of the Llanilltud Faerdref area.
Don Llewellyn and Pentyrch Historical Society has collected the history of the area and there are numerous references to Efail Isaf in the Garth Domain series.
