Lewis Williams was headmaster of Llanilltud Faerdref County School and he had been collecting the history of the area particularly the period 1700 - 1800. Following his retirement he wrote the book in 1912 which collects the oral history and atmosphere of that era. Written in English it's a valuable book which fills a big gap in our knowledge of rural life in a Welsh speaking community.
